Danes visiting Dvůr Králové nad Labem
.
In the week from 20 to 25 November, 22 Danish students aged 14-15 visited the Strž Primary School. The aim of this exchange was not only to strengthen their language skills, but also to enrich their view of the culture and history of the Czech Republic.

During the visit, the Danish and Czech students had the opportunity to improve their language skills in joint lessons with Czech students, which contributed to creating stronger bonds between the two groups and fostered mutual understanding. The programme also included a joint presentation where Danish students shared their culture and country with their Czech peers, and vice versa. This exchange of views and information contributed to the enrichment of the educational environment on both sides. In this introductory part, representatives of the City of Dvůr Králové nad Labem were also present - Head of the Education Department - Mgr. K. Pištorová, K. Jonová and Ing. M. Kameníková. The visitors also enjoyed a tour of the town, where they could discover historical sights and experience the authentic atmosphere of Czech culture. During the city tour, one Danish student expressed her wish to visit the stadium. She boasted that she was a national fencing champion and was preparing for the world championship. (Ida Rahabek). She was very proud to tell us her feelings and joy about the sport. The tour also included a stop at the O. Gutfreund Gallery at the Elementary School - everyone chose a piece of art that appealed to them and tried to express their thoughts, feelings (good for practicing adjectives) A visit to the local zoo, robotics classrooms added an interesting element of modern education and entertainment to the program. The evening before departure, a dinner was held together which was an opportunity to share experiences and create unforgettable memories. A visit to a Christmas decoration factory added a Christmassy touch to the programme and an interesting insight into the local industry. With Danish students and Czech peers, under the guidance of two Danish and two Czech teachers, the event became an unforgettable educational experience and an opportunity for intercultural understanding, strengthening language skills as well as opening new perspectives and stimulating intercultural dialogue. Finally, we would like to thank all our colleagues who substituted for us at the school, SPOŠ Dvůr Králové for the workshop for the students, Mgr. I.
